Program Highlights for Tuesday 7th October, 2008

Four Play highlights and track listings for Tuesday 7th October.

Hope you enjoyed the show? We did! Good music and a great guest.

Tonight we started with a JOY 94.9 Daytime favorite and a birthday present new addition to Jay's CD Library. Our first artist was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in February 1988 and is a singer, a model and a fashion designer. She has sold over 11 million albums and nearly 40 million singles worldwide. Of course we speak of the amazingly successful Rihanna.

Track 1: Umbrella
Track 2: Disturbia
Track 3: Shut up and Drive
Track 4: Don't stop the Music

Rihanna - Please don't stop the music....

Next up, we introduced you to our special guest for tonight. His name is Lukether and he is currently an un-signed independent artist who has produced a number of demo tracks. He's a singer/songwriter from Melbourne who plays piano and drums as well as being a dab hand in the electronic/production skills as well.

The songs we played are from his promotional CD recorded at Sing Sing recording studios in Melbourne. All instruments are played by Lukether except for guitar and bass. All songs written by Lukether.

Track 1: She Got the Ride
Track 2: Janie
Track 3: Heartbreak Eyes
Track 4: On The Run

We hope you enjoyed listening to this up and coming artist and we wish him all the best in carving out that recording career.

Next up - Just for fun - a bit of old style Cyndi Lauper.

Born June 22, 1953 and having turned 55 this year (yes, thanks to our listener Dagmar for pointing out our maths at 10:20pm is a bit off), Cyndi has released 11 albums, over 40 singles and has sold more than 55 million albums worldwide.

Track 1: Girls just wanna have fun
Track 2: Time after Time
Track 3: True Colors
Track 4: I Drove All Night

Lastly tonight, we took a listen to a musical trio inspired by the 1940's style close harmony vocal music of the Andrew Sisters. A group described as part of a "retro futuristic vanguard" and a sound described as "swing-punk"!!!

The group is called The Puppini Sisters and are a trio made up of Marcella Puppini, Stephanie O'Brien and Kate Mullins from Italy and the UK.

Track 1: Spooky
Track 2: Crazy in Love
Track 3: Walk like an Egyptian
Track 4: Old Cape cod

As usual - thanks for listening and of course you can always let us know if YOU have an idea for a Four Play. Just email away.

Have a great week!

Chris and Jay.
